Free Advice: Now Available Any Day
Free Advice Consults, formerly Free Advice Fridays, is now available to Member nonprofits through ProBono Marin any day of the week. Consultations with volunteer professionals can be scheduled at your agency location or the Center.
A new series of Free Advice Consults will be offered this winter in February and March with experts available in marketing, executive coaching, finance, fundraising and communications.

Five ProBono Marin Consultants will be available for free advice consults.
Jack Alotto has more than 25 years in non-profit management as director of development and executive director. His experience includes working with small start-up and larger organizations in the arts, healthcare and human service non-profits. Jack has worked in all aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, special events, deferred giving, capital campaigns, corporate and foundation funding and donor identification and retention and using social networking to increase support.
Bob Canepa has more than 25 years experience in marketing and merchandising, human resources, and business management. As a member of ProBono Marin, Bob has worked with nonprofit organizations on such topics as sales, marketing, strategic planning, board issues, development, and recruitment.
Stan Gassman has a 20 year professional career as an independent consultant and corporate executive, including notable successes with a diverse range of clients. He is an innovator and skilled communicator, excelling at strategy, business development and sustainable business operations.
Stan Green has had a thirty-year career as a Certified Financial Planner and operates a private practice for the past six years. Stan has worked with over 30 nonprofits on financial issues, such as reviewing budgets, balance sheets, cash flow problems, etc. In addition, he brings the insights gained from being the Treasurer on the boards of the Osher Marin JCC and the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership.
Karen Schellhorn has over 30 years experience in corporate communications and public relations, specializing in issues and reputation management, and marketing communications. She currently leads ProBono Marin’s Marketing Initiative, sourcing professionals in the community to serve as pro bono nonprofit consultants.
