LUNCH TIME SESSION: Sneak Peek: Status of the Marin Nonprofit Sector

First Report Back on The Marin County Nonprofit Landscape Study, a project of the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin (Center). The study seeks to establish a baseline report of the county’s nonprofit sector, describing its size, scope, geographical distribution, services provided, internal structure, economic impact, number of people employed, fiscal health, and sustainability. This is the first study of its kind in the county, and will be used by funders, policy makers and donors to make informed decisions.

TRACK 1: COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Turning the 'Baby Boom' into the 'Resource Boom': Strategies for Expanding Civic Engagement Among 55+ Professionals
Sabrina L. Reilly, RespectAbility, National Council on Aging (NCOA)

Sabrina L. Reilly will discuss the information NCOA collected from its in-depth review of thirty-four nonprofits who are engaging adults 55+ in service to their communities and the principles formulated from these promising practices. This workshop will be of particular interest to nonprofit leaders who want to capitalize on the resources of an expanding pool of adults 55+ to strengthen organizational capacity and effective delivery of services.
